He is a genius-Nobel laureate, fine.
But verse usually stops me short.
What startles is the simplicity, the permission to write what he will, even an Ode to a lemon.
So right.

Simplicity startles me too. But my favourite Neruda line has to be this:
"I want to do with you what spring does with the cherry trees."

I've had it memorized for ten years now, in the hopes of using it, or a variant of it.

The ode is so well written...i've always loved the fragrance of a lemon and the flavor it adds too...wonder whats the origin of the quote "getting a lemon"...they say "When life throws you lemons, make lemonade"...will read more on Neruda's works

Quin-beholden. but no. No. I just try.

PQ- lovely, isn't it? So much that we see but disregard as being too mundane.

Norrbu- I wish you dua from the bottom of my heart. For me the fact tnat he permits himself to first feel and then the express- that indeed is superlative.

That was really good- simplicity at it's best,in a way. They should use such works for school textbooks rather than drab ole poems,I feel. What do you say?
