Isn’t it surprising and a bit of a treat that the best of words and the finest of movies resonates with something deep within, and make us think, forces us to connect missing pieces by drawing upon our own experiences, diverse as they may be, in order to shade in the colors?
Udaan is a treat. Do not miss.
Joan Didion is a treasure.

Ok I think I need to give Udaan another chance. I was tired when I was watching it and I found the direction and acting too amateur. Probably only because I was tired.
I liked Udaan...the young actor Austy...his smile is so cute no :-) And for the story, its nice. Some people have to go through so much of pain in life...I wonder what people like his father are made of. Their escape reminded me of the escape by the little boys in Slumdog Millionaire from the begging adda.
A treasure indeed...loved reading it...thanks for sharing
agree. a treat indeed. realistic grit :)
Joan Didion... I enjoyed reading that wonderful passage. Thanks for posting the link!
Thank you for showing me Joan Didion, I did not know her before.
How much can life smash on one person? I like Thompson and Wolfe.
I just watched and udaan and liked it. A lot. thanks for the recommendation :)
Tamanna- are you sure lady you aren't bringing your home state loyalties to the story line?
J'pur is in Jharkhand, right?
pq- I loved the dialogue. Even the nasty bits. So REAL.
Glad you liked Didion.
manuji- yep. grit. nits and all.
leni- there's more online....
mago- glad to point you there.
mystic- you're welcome...
J'pur is in Jharkhand, I am from Bihar :P And what a coincidence, I finished the entire movie today. And I happen to have more in common with the movie than the proximity of our roots :) Those sky high expectations and all. Loved it, cried like a baby. Heh!
