That fantastic drumming and clash of cymbals as deities were taken for immersion. The peace of prayers, mindful of the conjunction of distant planets. Sitting quietly with a friend, hearing her life tale unravel. The shock of a teary birthday wish too late, and much too early in the morning—don’t know why, but I can guess—has anything really changed in the last twenty, thirty years? The scare of a nonresponsive external hard drive, much praying, long distance assistance, and eventual relief at a solution. Some resolutions for the new year, to free up and use chunks of time. Last year’s hit and miss was hallmark plodding mule, but cussed persistence is in my genes.

Hope u stick to the resolutions...& yes Austy...things have definitely changed in ur life...it just depends on what u define the meaning of change to. But I can totally relate to that feeling...I sometimes feel that if I closed my eyes and a few years went by and then I opened them...I could start at the same spot and it sometimes feels like nothing much happened...but it actually did in lot of little ways....may not be those big milestones...but yet those little things did matter. Somehow Birthdays are like these yearly times when we all sit back and reflect don't we :)
