I look at the kid.
Bubbly, full of life, tall and pretty with her Julia Roberts cheekbones and slow smile.
I think back. To the way I was.
Not j, not the green monster.
But by this age I had written and crossed out quite a few life chapters.
Today, I like myself more.

The anticipation of a new book, the wonder, the delight...
Of a people so similar but not quite.

Mornings that are green drenched, the water trickling in tiny rivulets down my face, '
and the familiar takes on the mystery of a place unseen, and magical.

It's good, isn't it to like yourself more with every passing year? :) I hope I can do that forever.

I liked that line austy "Today I like myself more" :-) Often look back and think if I had taken some other decision, life would have been different...but I am glad at what decisions I took. It is so important to like yourself right?

Yep-with each coming year, the maturity level increases..so true,Austy.:)And,frankly, many times,I see what I could have done better in the past, be it in personal or work life.:)
Nice pic the 'water trickling ...'line conjures up...out here,I'd modify it to 'wee drops of perspiration trickling down ....'after a nice walk,or, on a humid day, which is every other day these days.:)

Yes, it is, Tamanna. But I wouldn't have thought/dreamt so, back then.

Abhilasha-- and yet not so completely transparent.

Leni :) thank you.

PQ- oh yes, it is. And looking back, we're kinder to what we were, faltering, not quite knowing what the future had in store.

Abhilasha- My respect for myself went up a couple of notches. By that age, I'd seen so much of life, learnt some tough lessons...

Norrbu- me? reading a new book. "In other rooms, other wonders"

Amit- I guess I needed the contrast and the distance from that time. Baroda's been having some rain as well.
